What is spatial analysis?
Spatial analysis is the examination of location through ideas of scale, proximity, the creation of place, and the movement of elements through physical space. It is focused on asking questions about where events took place, where people lived and worked, where things are or were located, and how certain places developed. Scholars use digital spatial tools to observe correlations and patterns. In the digital environment, spatial analysis uses digital tools to produce maps that depict locations. Digital maps can be designed by inputting individual points, uploading multiple spatial datapoints, and through the development of a narrative. These maps can also serve as exhibition platforms.
